Sustainable building can be seen with this unique design of this Nordic home placed on the property with an elevated steel structure where poor buildable soil conditions were located. This allowed for a intentional covered outdoor space under the master enclave. Rubber membrane flashing and sound moisture management system creates protection against the elements. This design saved McMillan's clients upwards of $40K in foundation costs while preserving the natural setting, trees and contours of the land. It also was a LKN Home Builder's Award Winner for best 1 million dollar design and build home.
