This Lake Norman renovation brought new life to a 1950s home by blending timeless bungalow-inspired architecture with thoughtful, functional design. A welcoming front porch and barrier-free site plan improve accessibility and create a more comfortable everyday living experience. The project also resolved long-standing site challenges caused by a garage addition built more than a decade earlier, which sat several feet above the home’s finished floor elevation and contributed to drainage, waterproofing, and circulation issues. Comprehensive grading, drainage improvements, waterproofing, and architectural redesign created a cohesive solution that better connects the home to its surroundings. The result is a warm, functional lakeside retreat that feels naturally integrated into the landscape and transforms a property once facing the possibility of demolition into a timeless Lake Norman residence.
